Quick summary
Clean the lint filters and moisture sensors, don't overload, and make sure the washer spun the clothes well. If it continues, check airflow and heating.
Drying relies on warm air moving through the clothes and then being exhausted or condensed. Any blockage in that path, or a dirty moisture sensor, makes the dryer stop early or run long without result.
Unplug the appliance, close the water tap if there's a leak, and never open covers that need tools or expose wiring or circuits.
Possible causes
Clogged lint filters
The most common cause of poor drying.
Dirty moisture sensors
Softener residue makes the sensor read clothes as dry too early; LG advises wiping them with a damp cloth (HS if the sensor faults).
Overloading or tiny loads
Affects moisture reading and airflow.
Weak washer spin
Waterlogged clothes take much longer.
Blocked vent
On vented dryers (d80/d90/d95 codes).
Weak heating
See the not-heating guide.
Safe checks you can do
- Clean the lint filter before each cycle and wash extra filters periodically.
- Wipe the moisture sensor bars inside the drum with a damp cloth and let them dry.
- Spin clothes well in the washer before drying.
- Don't fill beyond about two-thirds, and separate heavy from light fabrics.
- On vented dryers, check the duct for kinks and lint.
When to stop checking immediately
- If the cabinet gets unusually hot or you smell burning.

When do you need a technician?
The technician measures sensor, heating and airflow performance and cleans internal air paths where needed.

FAQ
Why does the cycle end with damp clothes?
Usually dirty moisture sensors or an unsuitable load.
Should I clean the filter every time?
Yes—cleaning the lint filter before each cycle is a core LG recommendation.
