Quick summary
Start simple: clean the filter and spray-arm holes, load so the arms can rotate, and use dishwasher detergent at the right dose. If dishes are cold at the end, heating may be the issue.
Cleaning results depend on pressurised water reaching every item. One blocked spray-arm hole or a big tray blocking the spray is enough to leave residue.
Unplug the appliance, close the water tap if there's a leak, and never open covers that need tools or expose wiring or circuits.
Possible causes
Blocked spray-arm holes
Food and scale block the nozzles.
Loading blocks the arms
Long handles stop the arm turning; some models show nE if items touch the impeller.
Clogged filter
Reduces circulating water.
Wrong detergent
Hand dish soap causes heavy suds (bE) and poor results.
Hard water, no rinse aid
Causes white spots and a dull film.
Weak heating
Grease doesn't dissolve in lukewarm water.
Safe checks you can do
- Remove the spray arms as the manual shows, clear holes with a thin wooden stick and rinse.
- Clean the filter.
- Load large items at the sides with soiled faces toward the centre, and spin the arms by hand to check clearance.
- Use dishwasher detergent only and add rinse aid.
- If your installation uses a hot feed, run the kitchen hot tap briefly before starting.
When to stop checking immediately
- Never use hand dish soap in the dishwasher.
