Quick summary
If water enters even with the washer off, the inlet valve isn't closing—shut the tap now. If it overfills during operation or shows FE or PE, the level sensor, its tube or the valve need testing.
The washer relies on a pressure sensor to know the water level and an electric valve to open and close the supply. If either fails, it may keep filling and risk a flood.
Unplug the appliance, close the water tap if there's a leak, and never open covers that need tools or expose wiring or circuits.
Possible causes
Inlet valve stuck open
Scale or mechanical damage stops the valve closing—water enters even with power off.
Water-level sensor
A wrong reading makes the washer think the level isn't reached.
Blocked sensor tube
A thin tube links the tub to the sensor; blockage gives false readings.
Siphoning
If the drain hose sits too low, water escapes continuously and the washer refills (see the keeps-draining guide).
Safe checks you can do
- Close the tap: if water was entering with the washer off, the valve isn't closing.
- Check the drain hose height and fixing per the installation guide.
- If FE or PE appears, unplug for a minute and restart.
When to stop checking immediately
- If water enters with the washer off—close the tap and keep it closed until checked.
- If water overflows from the door or drawer.

When do you need a technician?
The technician tests the inlet valve, pressure sensor and tube, and the board, and checks the drain hose is correctly installed.

FAQ
What's the difference between FE and PE?
FE indicates the water level exceeded the limit; PE indicates a pressure (level) sensor problem. See the code pages.
Should I leave the tap open?
If you suspect the valve, close the tap after every use until it's repaired.
